2nd round: Groups 3 & 4 classes

 Hello everybody, welcome back to my blog!👻💜

It's the turn of groups 3 and 4, which I couldn't be present due to my work (I had 4 hours of training, can you believe it?💀) But still, I will talk about the great job they did.💁

The third group started the class with a quick review of the present simple as a warm-up exercise💪. They then performed an engaging activity in which two images were presented and the students had to choose the one that best represented the action described by the teacher👨‍🏫. In addition, they watched a video about daily routines and completed a worksheet provided by the teacher📃. The lesson included several practices, such as conversing with classmates and answering questions such as "What do you do at Christmas or on your birthday?"❓. To conclude the lesson, students formed a line in which one student would state an activity, the next would repeat it and add a new one, creating a chain and ultimately building a routine🔨.

Next, it was Group 4's turn to lead the class📏. They began with a lively warm-up game called "hot potato🥔," and the teacher provided several questions about their daily routines. To prepare the students, they briefly reviewed the structure of the present simple tense and provided the students with vocabulary related to everyday activities📚. The students then watched a video and had to repeat the sentences that were said in it🗣. In addition, worksheets were distributed with a reading passage and several questions for the students to answer. Students then compared their answers with the rest of the class. Another activity consisted of students writing down their daily routines and then sharing them with the class. To conclude, they were asked questions about what they had learned that day, encouraging discussion and feedback.👩‍🏫

As always, I imagine that both groups did very well, they went out of their way to reinforce the students' knowledge.💪

2nd round: Groups 1 & 2 classes

 Hey, hey, hey! Welcome back to my blog!👻❤

And the second round of classes has started, and by the way, we have reached the last register (finally, whaaaat?)🙊. This time my group and Maru's group were first, it was a relief to be first and we tried our best. 💪

Last time our class focused on Listening👂, but this time it was Vocabulary📑 and we taught the basic sentences or actions about daily routine and how to use frequency adverbs. For Warm-up, I had them play charades, where I handed out papers with daily routine actions and the students mimed to try to guess❓. Then, we went more in-depth into vocabulary and presentation, here the students learned and repeated the vocabulary taught👩‍🏫. After that, we moved on to activities, in the first one they worked on a worksheet, and in the second one the students had to select which things they frequently do and which ones they don't, they had to paste the actions on the board🧠. Following this, another activity was more written where they had to write their whole daily routine using the vocabulary learned and the adverbs of frequency.✍ Finally, for the wrap-up, we played Russian roulette where each student was given a piece of paper with a number on it and if that number came up in the roulette, they were asked questions regarding what they had learned.👀

After a short break, the second session focused on grammar👩‍🏫, specifically the present simple, with its affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms. The class began with a review of daily activities and continued with a thorough explanation of the structure of the present simple. To make the learning experience enjoyable, engaging activities such as tic-tac-toe⭕❌and a version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"💰 were used, all of which focused on the use of the present simple tense. The class concluded by giving students a worksheet 📝 with questions for them to answer.

I think because it was our second time, we were less nervous and already knew how to lead the class, I humbly say we did pretty well. Groups 7 & 8 classes

 Hello dears, welcome back to my blog!💁

This time it was time for the last two groups, 7 and 8. Let me tell you a little of what it was about. 👵

Their lesson emphasized listening skills and covered numbers and classroom objects. They did an engaging warm-up exercise to begin, followed by teaching numbers and pronunciation practice👭. I liked it when they put objects in the presentation and asked how to say them, thanks to that I learned how to say "hole punch". To finish, they asked questions about everything they learned. 🧠

After the break, the last group did their job💪, they led the class focused on reading. They began the session by conducting a sentence sorting activity as a refresher on the classroom objects. In addition, there was a reading activity in which the students had to respond based on the materials provided by the student-teachers. To conclude, the group asked questions related to the topics covered in the lesson.📚

And that concluded our first classes. It was a great experience and everyone did very well. I hope that the students will learn something, even a little bit, we try to do our best because that's what they deserve. ❤✌

Groups 5 & 6 classes

 Hello there! Welcome back to my blog! 👀✌

It was the turn of groups 5 and 6, who taught about classroom objects, numbers, and the verb to be in negative and interrogative. Unfortunately, I could not attend the class because of my job💀, but that does not mean that I would not ask questions to update my blog.💫

Group 5 talked about classroom objects and numbers🔢. They taught students the correct pronunciation of numbers. Their exercises included asking questions related to numbers, such as asking for ID numbers and telephone numbers, so that students could apply their numerical knowledge.🧠 In addition, students learned about the objects in the classroom and performed an activity in which the teacher pronounced a sentence that the students had to translate into Spanish.😜

Group 6 focused on the negative and interrogative forms of the verb "to be"❓. The session began with an engaging game of guessing countries🗺. Then, they moved on to teaching the structure of the negative form of the verb "to be" and provided guidance on how to ask and answer negative questions. Several activities were incorporated into the lesson, including a task in which students developed sentences using the negative form. In addition, they distributed worksheets to students for a collaborative exercise, during which they compared their answers with a partner.👫

Groups 3 & 4 classes

Hi Starshine, The Earth Says "Hello!"🌟✌

Moving on, this time it was the turn of groups 3 and 4, Maru's group and mine. Since we were the ones who would start the day's classes I felt very nervous, and the fact that people hardly arrived made me panic, but after a while they arrived and we saw some new faces. 👀

As each student arrived we gave them stickers to write their names on, so that when we needed participation we could see the name and call them immediately👻. We taught 3 topics (greetings, verb to be in the affirmative, and spelling) similar to the last two classes but in our case, we focused on listening. We started with a listening activity to prepare them for what they were going to face😈. Then, we developed the topics and did other activities such as creating sentences with the verb to be, a spelling bee, another more complicated listening, and finally our famous Chayanne's Hot Potato🥔, which was done with the song Torero to give them excitement. In addition, we gave out Colombian jellies and chocolates not only to those who got it right but to all the participants.💫

After the break, the second class started. The fourth group focused on greetings and spelling as well, but with more information about them and focused on reading.📖 They formed circles to play hot potato🥔 so they could ask questions. Also, they did a reading comprehension test and at the end, they had them form groups so that everyone could do their conversation using the topics they had learned.🧠.

We stayed until the end for teacher Orlando to give us our respective feedback, which was very detailed and made me think how much knowledge he has acquired over the years, it will definitely serve us well later on. Thank you for your words.💝

Groups 1 & 2 classes

Hello, hello, hello ✌👻

And finally, OUR classes started💀. I was surprised how many new people and new faces were in the classroom, thanks to them the classes can be taught with pleasure. Now I am going to tell you a little about the first two groups. First, I want to say that they had a great challenge as it is never easy to start or be the first at something, but they did very well.👏

The first group started by having all the students introduce themselves, they made a circle where each one said their name and then they made them memorize each other's names. They had to repeat them, which I thought was good because it helps us all and them to get to know the people they will see during more classes. Also, they gave them a name tag with their names on it, which was very clever.🧠

Then, they taught the alphabet the basics of how the letters are pronounced in English, showing words with each letter and having them repeat them aloud. They went on to teach about greetings, and they showed formal and informal ways that you can say hello. Finally, it was the Verb to be, which at the end of the explanation the students did several exercises to put into practice what they learned.💪

The second group, after the 15-minute break given to the students, started practicing the verb to be, which was the last topic learned in the first group. 🧠

This class was more about grammar, the students did several exercises like ordering sentences, they created some sentences as well, they did role plays, they created conversations and so they demonstrated everything they learned during the day.💪

And that was it, my classmates did a great job with their classes, as I said, it is not easy to be the first ones, but they did very well. Besides, we also learned from them, both about the topics and the things we should take into account when we teach our classes.

Group Planning and Feedback

Hi, welcome back to my blog!✌❤

For this class, there is no new topic, but it was used to give us feedback on the presentations, and for group planning. Teacher Orlando had already told us to form groups of 4 and then called who would be the leader in order to distribute the topics, and also the group number. Our leader is Giselle, and she got group number 3😌. What makes it more interesting to give these classes is that it will be with real students, and we will be in charge of bringing them, that makes me a little nervous, but I will give my best, together with my group.💪

In the other part of the class, the teacher spent time giving feedback to each group. He started by asking us how we had felt if we would have liked to change anything in our class, and things like that👽. Then, he told us what he thought and his impression, he liked the good time management we had, of course, we also had things to improve, but all this will help us to be able to give our next class.💫
