Last class馃挌: Groups 7 & 8

Welcome back to... the last entry of my blog馃槩✌

And just like that, the last class arrived, where groups 7 and 8 were in charge of closing the class by showing their teaching skills馃挭.

To open the class, the teachers did a fun activity called Hangman , in which the students participated to make the class more interesting馃挮. The teachers started by talking about the weather⛅, did a quick review of numbers馃敘, and then had a practice session. They also reviewed the use of "there is" and "there are". They played a video showing a daily routine and discussed topics such as routines and time. Afterward, the students matched different times and wrote sentences on a piece of paper provided by the teachers.

In the second session, the class reviewed the time. In the beginning, students used a clock and the teachers introduced vocabulary related to time for the students to learn馃. The class included other activities in which students answered questions given by the teacher. There were also scissors, paper games, and riddles that were a lot of fun for both the students and the audience.

From my side, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our teacher Orlando for giving us so much knowledge, for encouraging us to take on the role of teachers, and for making this a truly rewarding learning experience. It has been a wonderful journey, and I appreciate the guidance and inspiration provided throughout the course. Thank you for making the classes not only educational but also enjoyable. (Thank you so much for the cookies,  it was delicious馃槏.)

So here ends my last entry, it was a pleasure to do this blog, and I wish us all success bye-bye馃懡馃挏.

2nd round: Groups 5 & 6 classes

Hello again readers, nice to have you back! ❤✌

It is now the turn of groups 5 and 6, let's see how they did it✨

The class began with a friendly game of Human Knot in order to lighten the mood and create a warm welcome between students and teachers馃挅. Then, the topic of telling the time was introduced using dynamic didactic methods in order to expand the vocabulary of the students馃摎. This was followed by a practical exercise using a "magic basket" in which students randomly selected notes with daily activities, formed pairs, and exchanged questions and answers related to the weather⛅. The teachers, in a continuing effort to keep the students' interest, conducted an interactive exercise focused on reading the time in various cities while sharing fun facts. They provided the students with handmade clocks to practice setting the time⏰. They organized a fun competition between boys and girls. To conclude, the class enjoyed a game of bingo馃幋.

Group 6 gave a brief introduction in Spanish to the concepts of "there is" and "there are" for the students, followed by questions related to classroom objects馃彌. They then moved deeper into the topic, explaining the use of "there is" and "there are" in the present, past, and future tenses馃摉. They then began an activity in which students wrote examples on the board. The students' task was to classify these sentences as singular, plural, or in any grammatical tenses they had been taught✍️. To conclude the session, the teachers engaged the students by asking them several questions to evaluate what they had learned in class馃.

Well, as you can see they did a spectacular job. Stay tuned for the last updates as we are almost at the end. bye bye.馃懡馃挋

2nd round: Groups 3 & 4 classes

Hello everybody, welcome back to my blog!馃懟馃挏

It's the turn of groups 3 and 4, which I couldn't be present due to my work (I had 4 hours of training, can you believe it?馃拃) But still, I will talk about the great job they did.馃拋

The third group started the class with a quick review of the present simple as a warm-up exercise馃挭. They then performed an engaging activity in which two images were presented and the students had to choose the one that best represented the action described by the teacher馃懆‍馃彨. In addition, they watched a video about daily routines and completed a worksheet provided by the teacher馃搩. The lesson included several practices, such as conversing with classmates and answering questions such as "What do you do at Christmas or on your birthday?"❓. To conclude the lesson, students formed a line in which one student would state an activity, the next would repeat it and add a new one, creating a chain and ultimately building a routine馃敤.

Next, it was Group 4's turn to lead the class馃搹. They began with a lively warm-up game called "hot potato馃," and the teacher provided several questions about their daily routines. To prepare the students, they briefly reviewed the structure of the present simple tense and provided the students with vocabulary related to everyday activities馃摎. The students then watched a video and had to repeat the sentences that were said in it馃棧. In addition, worksheets were distributed with a reading passage and several questions for the students to answer. Students then compared their answers with the rest of the class. Another activity consisted of students writing down their daily routines and then sharing them with the class. To conclude, they were asked questions about what they had learned that day, encouraging discussion and feedback.馃懇‍馃彨

As always, I imagine that both groups did very well, they went out of their way to reinforce the students' knowledge.馃挭

Here concludes this entry, see you at the next one, bye-bye.馃懡馃挋

2nd round: Groups 1 & 2 classes

Hey, hey, hey! Welcome back to my blog!馃懟❤

And the second round of classes has started, and by the way, we have reached the last register (finally, whaaaat?)馃檴. This time my group and Maru's group were first, it was a relief to be first and we tried our best. 馃挭

Last time our class focused on Listening馃憘, but this time it was Vocabulary馃搼 and we taught the basic sentences or actions about daily routine and how to use frequency adverbs. For Warm-up, I had them play charades, where I handed out papers with daily routine actions and the students mimed to try to guess❓. Then, we went more in-depth into vocabulary and presentation, here the students learned and repeated the vocabulary taught馃懇‍馃彨. After that, we moved on to activities, in the first one they worked on a worksheet, and in the second one the students had to select which things they frequently do and which ones they don't, they had to paste the actions on the board馃. Following this, another activity was more written where they had to write their whole daily routine using the vocabulary learned and the adverbs of frequency.✍ Finally, for the wrap-up, we played Russian roulette where each student was given a piece of paper with a number on it and if that number came up in the roulette, they were asked questions regarding what they had learned.馃憖

After a short break, the second session focused on grammar馃懇‍馃彨, specifically the present simple, with its affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms. The class began with a review of daily activities and continued with a thorough explanation of the structure of the present simple. To make the learning experience enjoyable, engaging activities such as tic-tac-toeand a version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"馃挵 were used, all of which focused on the use of the present simple tense. The class concluded by giving students a worksheet 馃摑 with questions for them to answer.

I think because it was our second time, we were less nervous and already knew how to lead the class, I humbly say we did pretty well. Plus, it's fun to do the activities and give out prizes.馃崿 And this is just the beginning of the end. There's more to come, so stay tuned and we'll see you soon. Bye-bye!馃懡馃挋

Groups 7 & 8 classes

Hello dears, welcome back to my blog!馃拋

This time it was time for the last two groups, 7 and 8. Let me tell you a little of what it was about. 馃懙

Their lesson emphasized listening skills and covered numbers and classroom objects. They did an engaging warm-up exercise to begin, followed by teaching numbers and pronunciation practice馃懎. I liked it when they put objects in the presentation and asked how to say them, thanks to that I learned how to say "hole punch". To finish, they asked questions about everything they learned. 馃

After the break, the last group did their job馃挭, they led the class focused on reading. They began the session by conducting a sentence sorting activity as a refresher on the classroom objects. In addition, there was a reading activity in which the students had to respond based on the materials provided by the student-teachers. To conclude, the group asked questions related to the topics covered in the lesson.馃摎

And that concluded our first classes. It was a great experience and everyone did very well. I hope that the students will learn something, even a little bit, we try to do our best because that's what they deserve. ❤✌

But it doesn't end here, stay tuned for the next and last round. bye-bye. 馃懡馃挌

Groups 5 & 6 classes

Hello there! Welcome back to my blog! 馃憖✌

It was the turn of groups 5 and 6, who taught about classroom objects, numbers, and the verb to be in negative and interrogative. Unfortunately, I could not attend the class because of my job馃拃, but that does not mean that I would not ask questions to update my blog.馃挮

Group 5 talked about classroom objects and numbers馃敘. They taught students the correct pronunciation of numbers. Their exercises included asking questions related to numbers, such as asking for ID numbers and telephone numbers, so that students could apply their numerical knowledge.馃 In addition, students learned about the objects in the classroom and performed an activity in which the teacher pronounced a sentence that the students had to translate into Spanish.馃槣

Group 6 focused on the negative and interrogative forms of the verb "to be"❓. The session began with an engaging game of guessing countries馃椇. Then, they moved on to teaching the structure of the negative form of the verb "to be" and provided guidance on how to ask and answer negative questions. Several activities were incorporated into the lesson, including a task in which students developed sentences using the negative form. In addition, they distributed worksheets to students for a collaborative exercise, during which they compared their answers with a partner.馃懌

That would be all, stay tuned because there are only two more groups left. See you later, bye-bye馃懡馃挋

Groups 3 & 4 classes

Hi Starshine, The Earth Says "Hello!"馃専✌

Moving on, this time it was the turn of groups 3 and 4, Maru's group and mine. Since we were the ones who would start the day's classes I felt very nervous, and the fact that people hardly arrived made me panic, but after a while they arrived and we saw some new faces. 馃憖

As each student arrived we gave them stickers to write their names on, so that when we needed participation we could see the name and call them immediately馃懟. We taught 3 topics (greetings, verb to be in the affirmative, and spelling) similar to the last two classes but in our case, we focused on listening. We started with a listening activity to prepare them for what they were going to face馃槇. Then, we developed the topics and did other activities such as creating sentences with the verb to be, a spelling bee, another more complicated listening, and finally our famous Chayanne's Hot Potato馃, which was done with the song Torero to give them excitement. In addition, we gave out Colombian jellies and chocolates not only to those who got it right but to all the participants.馃挮

After the break, the second class started. The fourth group focused on greetings and spelling as well, but with more information about them and focused on reading.馃摉 They formed circles to play hot potato馃 so they could ask questions. Also, they did a reading comprehension test and at the end, they had them form groups so that everyone could do their conversation using the topics they had learned.馃.
(I stole the photo from Andres, who stole it from Fer)馃ぁ

We stayed until the end for teacher Orlando to give us our respective feedback, which was very detailed and made me think how much knowledge he has acquired over the years, it will definitely serve us well later on. Thank you for your words.馃挐

This is as far as this blog has gone, wait to see how it goes with the remaining groups. bye-bye.馃懡馃挋
